The premise behind my thesis is to create a synergistic relationship between nature and technology. Ideally housed in an urban environment, the project is meant to make viewers aware of the nature that surrounds them. The project will be a kinetic sculpture that tells time by feeding birds. The clock consists of 12 free standing nodes placed around a thinly elevated metallic ring 30 degrees from one another, corresponding to the hours on an analog clock. For the prototype, the ring will be about 7 feet in diameter. Each node will release birdseeds at specific hour of the day, corresponding to its placement around the ring. So for example, if the node at the 3 o’clock position is seeding, then we know the time is somewhere between 3:00 and 3:59 pm. Observers can readily and easily tell time by looking at where the birds are converging to feed.

Sometime this past week, I realized that if the nodes where placed horizontially in a circle, people would not have the proper perspective to know what time it was. Ok lame explaintion but I'm tired and will fix this up soon heres the picture.
